A perfected production line

Procurement:

A “Purchasing” department ensures procurement in all raw materials used. All raw materials are checked for quality by a laboratory, Laboratoire Velay, before use in production. All purchases are stored in a specific, computer-controlled warehouse.

Machine supply:

A system known as “AZO” manages all raw materials for bagging machines by means of two automatic machines. Each 500-litre hopper feeds into a machine using its specific piping. Plants are moved from big bags to a container where they are transferred using a vacuum pump. The entire system is completely sealed from contact with the atmosphere and human hands as the guarantee of faultless and complete hygiene.

Tea-bag filling:

Pagès boasts bagging facilities which can meet every configuration requested by clients. Machines can box products by 10, 20, 25, 30, 50 or 100 sachets. Sachets can be single or dual filter and with or without a freshness envelope. Bagging speeds can reach up to 400 sachets per minutes. Each machine is equipped with scales to monitor the weight of packaged boxes. Dosage is checked to the last 10th of a gram. Any anomaly results in the destruction of sub-standard products. Reports at the end of the production batch are generated to ensure production tracing.

Packaging and palleting:

All packaged boxes are automatically cellophane-wrapped in cartons and stacked on pallets. Boxes are sorted if required by a Gencode reader with the machine intervening automatically to stack boxes in cartons and identify them with inkjet marking before palleting.

Storage:

Shrink-wrapped and identified pallets are managed by very high performance IT resources which position the pallets in stock, prepare orders and carry out FIFO (First In, First Out) stock management.

Production facilities

The Pagès factory, a production facility particularly fine-tuned for high-quality output.
The factory may well have been built in 1967 but has adapted to the market over the years to meet consumer requirements in terms of both finished products and tracing procedures.
The factory has been constantly updated to meet these requirements and thus meet the most stringent quality and safety requirements.
